Iron –Found in green leafy vegetables, legumes & dried fruit (especially prunes and dried apricots). Vitamin C increases the absorption of plant-based iron. Iron is needed for healthy red blood cell production.
Calcium – Found in nuts, seeds and green leafy vegetables. It is important for strong bones and teeth and pH regulation.
Magnesium – Found in leafy green vegetables. It is important for nerve and muscle function.
Zinc – Found in nuts and seeds. It is important for skin and tissue healing and immune function.
Trace elements – only found in plant foods that have been grown in nutrient dense soil. Trace minerals can be hard to get due to poor soil quality so supplementation can be helpful.
