Fat Soluble Vitamins (A,D,E, K)
Fat soluble vitamins require adequate fats to be present for production, transport and utilization.
Vitamin A – Is found primarily in red, orange and dark green leafy vegetable. It strengthens capillaries (tiny blood vessels) and the immune system.
Vitamin D – comes from sunlight and animal foods. Vegans and vegetarians can check Vitamin D levels with a simple blood test from their GP. It is important for bone strength and immune function.
Vitamin E – comes from plant oils. It assists with tissue growth and healing and immune function
Vitamin K – is found in leafy green vegetables. It is important for blood clotting.
